NSW: Peel River Land & Mineral Co. Ltd., £5 share, 1857, blue paper, small embossed seal, EF.
The company was formed by the Australian Agricultural Company which owned the huge Peel River Estate, to develop the resources. Shares were offered first to AAC shareholders but then to others and they raised sufficient to leave the company with £100,000 of working capital. With this the company made excellent returns by selling gold claims and developing agricultural land and lasted until 1959 when it was again absorbed back into the Australian Agricultural Company.
